conducted as I was given less than twenty four hours to submit a
statement for consideration by the committee and, moreover, one of the
five members of the Committee is from Uruguay and did not have the value

May 30, 2011 - The FIFA Ethics Committee, under the chairmanship of Petrus Damaseb
(Namibia), decided today, 29 May 2011, to provisionally suspend, with
immediate effect, FIFA Vice-President Jack A. Warner and FIFA Executive
Committee member Mohamed bin Hammam from taking part in any
football-related activity (administrative, sports or any other)
worldwide after examining their cases in relation to alleged violations
of the FIFA Code of Ethics linked to the upcoming FIFA presidential
election.

Feb. 8, 2011 -- (guardian.co.uk): Britain is to abandon its warship patrols of the Caribbean for the first time since the second world war because of the navy's funding crisis, the Guardian has learned. The withdrawal means the navy will no longer provide a warship for anti-narcotic operations in the region, and will have to reduce its role in disaster relief work.

Regional Communications Centre Barbados, January 14th, 2011: In an effort to sharpen the
regional response to transnational organized crime, the CARICOM Implementation Agency for Crime and
Security (IMPACS) and the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force (CFTAF) have
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) setting forth their plans to work
together on the issue of financial crimes, including money laundering and the
use of the proceeds from the trade in narcotics and arms that fund gang and terrorism related activity.

ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) has presented Prime Minister (PM)
Bruce Golding's Government with a dangerous dilemma: the requested
extradition could spark violent incidents, ignite rivalries among
competing gang factions, and unleash a challenge to the state and to
Golding's own influence in West Kingston and beyond. The Mayor of
Kingston warns of "severe repercussions" and "collateral damage." His
fears are not unfounded."
